3E Plus® Download / Installation Instructions:

The following screen shots describe in detail the steps to download and install the 3E Plus program on your computer.

NOTES: If you have a previous version of 3E Plus installed on your computer (version 3.2 or version 4 build 15, 22, 33 or 35), you must uninstall it before installing the new version. IMPORTANT: Any jacket or insulation materials you had added in your earlier verision of 3E Plus will be deleted and must be re-entered when you install the new version. Click here to learn how to determine your previous 3E's Plus version and how to uninstall the program if necessary.

In order to install this software on your computer you must have "administrator privileges."

On most home computers this is not an issue, but many corporate/business computers that are on a network have restrictions that may prevent you from downloading or installing this software.

Please contact your computer administrator or IT department and attempt to resolve any installation issues prior to contacting NAIMA.  ALL installation issues to date have been on the user end and not software related.

Note: Many companies have instituted policies that limit or put guidelines in place for installing software. If you need formal permission to install the free 3E Plus software on your computer or corporate network, please contact us to request a letter of permission from NAIMA.

Please note: 3E Plus WILL NOT WORK on VISTA OS

Also, the program must be installed and run with the language set for English (United States). This is done by going to the “control panel” and opening the “Regional and Language Options” and under the Regional Options tab set for English (United States).

And please note: 3E Plus WILL NOT WORK on VISTA OS

Program Download

1.

After clicking the download link, you will see the File Download prompt.

Select Save to download the compressed installer to your computer.

2.

In the Save As window, choose the desired directory on your computer for the installer archive. (For example: C:\My Documents)

3.

After the download is complete, go the directory where you saved the installer archive.

Program Installation
The 3E program must be installed and run with the language set for English (United States). This is done by going to your computer's “control panel” and opening the “Regional and Language Options” and under the Regional Options tab set for English (United States). Once this setting has been confirmed on your computer, proceed as noted below.

4.

Decompress/Extract the downloaded installer archive "3ePlus4XX.zip"

Decompressing the archive requires WINZIP, PKZIP, ZIP Reader or similar software.

ZIP Reader can be downloaded for free at: www.pkware.com/downloads/software/utilities/reader/

5.

Decompressing the archive will create three files as shown.

Double click the setup application

6.

Click "OK" in the 3E Plus v4.0 setup dialog box

7.

Click the installation button to accept the default installation location, or use "Change Directory" to select an alternatve location.

Depending on your computer's configuration, during installation of 3E Plus you may get a Windows alert box informing you that the 3E Plus installer is trying to update some system files and asking if you want to replace an existing file. NAIMA advises that you follow the alert recommendation and "keep the newer files."

8.

After installation is completed, click OK to exit the installer.

9. Before launching the 3e Plus Program, verify that your monitor has a minimum screen size of 1024 X 768.  (Most monitors have a high enough resolution.) To adjust your display size, go to "settings -> control panel". Then double click "Display" and then click the "Settings" tab - then adjust the screen area to a minimum of 1024 x 768.

Again, for proper operation of 3E Plus on non-English systems, under the "settings -> control panel -> regional options" select "English (United States)". [This will avoid the message "An error has occurred while opening job information. 13:Type mismatch"]

10.

Run the 3E PLUS Program by selecting 3E Plus v4 from your Programs Menu.

Notes:

If your monitor's screen size is set correctly (at least 1024 x 768) the “insulation layers” display should look like this:

If the screen size is set too low – the “insulation layers” section may look something like this. In this case, please refer to step 9 to correct your screen area.

Note: You may delete the installer archive 3ePlus4xx.zip as well as the three extracted files 3Eplusv4, setup and SETUP (Locations determined in Step 2-5) after installation is completed.
